Technical Training Program for the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR)

There was a technical training program had been conducted through 20-27 June, 2011 within a 7 days duration organized by ICMSE Ltd. and ASA with 4 officials as participants at Dhaka, Manikganj, and Rural Branches of ASA & Grameen Bank.

Training Highlights:

  • Comprehensive sessions on ASA and Grameen Bank models, microfinance credit policies, auditing, client targeting, and credit scoring.
  • Field visits to rural microfinance operations of ASA and Grameen Bank.
  • Insights into branch management, accounting systems, and HR development for microfinance.
  • Meetings with the Credit Development Forum (CDF) to understand sector-wide contributions.
  • Practical exposure to “Credit Plus” programs including irrigation and rural finance.
  • Final training wrap-up and certification ceremony.
  • This structured program ensures knowledge transfer through lectures, discussions, and hands-on field experience, helping BNR build a robust microfinance supervisory framework.

To provide in-depth technical support, practical skills, and exposure to global best practices in microfinance, enabling BNR supervisors to enhance their knowledge on monitoring, regulation, and development of the microfinance sector in Rwanda.

This structured program ensured knowledge transfer through lectures, discussions, and hands-on field experience, helping BNR build a robust microfinance supervisory framework.
